Glute Complex:
The superficial muscles in the gluteal region consist of the three glutei and the tensor fascia lata. They mainly act to abduct and extend the lower limb at the hip joint. The reason they are called a complex is because they all work together in a coordinated sequence of contraction and relaxations.
Using the Waveblade will help balance out the tension and as such improve the coordination of the hip complex during different movements. It is also important to remember that once you have used the Waveblade it is very important to follow all your Release work with Move work – (see move section) to integrate the changes.
Gluteus Maximus
The gluteus maximus is the largest of the gluteal muscles. It is also the most superficial, producing the shape of the buttocks. It is the main extensor of the thigh, and assists with lateral rotation. However, it is only used when force is required, such as in sprinting and jumping.
Tight glutes can easily be released using the Waveblade can help assist in relieving tight and stiff lower backs via the Thoracolumbar fascia (TLF-see lower back section) as well and ensuring that the right muscles are being used in squat, dead-lift and lunge movements.
